Not all my Images are visible - Why?
Your page looks great. You have the text and images placed just where you want them so you change the page State to be Published.
You then go away and do something else.
But when you check the page later you notice that one of your images is no longer displaying. It was displaying before but now it has disappeared.
Instead of your image you have a funny box with an X in it or perhaps a strange combination of characters and numbers. Whatever is displayed, you know there was an image there before.
The difference is, the image that is visible is Published, and the image on the left has a State of Private. But because some time has passed you may not realise that this is the difference. A big hint is the green editing bar is not visible in the second image. This is a fairly good clue that you are not logged in.
If this happens to you, check to see if you are logged in or out. Then log in and check the image that is not showing up. Chances are the image has been left as Private and that is why it is not displaying. A quick look at the 'Contents' of the sites images folder in the image to the right shows us that this is in fact the problem.
Remember, Plone Workflow States require the image to have a State of Published or Public Draft for it to be visible to non-authorised visitors. Change the Workflow state to Pulished and the page will display correctly to ALLl visitors.
When adding a content type and making the state visible for general viewing, we always recommend that you either open a 'Private' window in your browser or log out of your website to check that the published item does in fact look correct.
