Change Display of Page Content

Plone folders can have the folder contents displayed in several different ways by selecting an option in the 'Display' drop-down.

The 'Display' tab is located on the green bar above the main content area. Plone allows you to easily change the look of your page by changing the display option. We will display the same page via the different options to show your the difference in each template. The 'Summary view' lists the folders contents giving Title, description and Read More link.

The 'Thumbnail view' is specific for images only. It shows a thumbnail sized version of the image and the image title.

A 'Standard view' displays an icon of the item type (page, file, image etc) before the items title and description.

The final option is 'Select a content item as default view'. This essentially allows you to pick one of the items as a kind of 'homepage' for the folder, as when visitors go to the area they will see this page rather than a listing of folder content.  Clicking on this option pops up a window for you to select the new default page from. NOTE: only suitable content types are listed.
