Gardening Solutionz™ needed a website that was easy to maintain, informative and 'visitor' friendly.

Plants go in and out of season, and availability, on a regular basis. The website needed to be flexible and allow for quick removals, changes and deletions. In short, the website requirement was for flexibility, use-ability and ease of use. We worked with MetaSolutions to design a site that would meet all these needs.

Flexibility in the site required plants to be displayed in several different areas, ground cover plants can also be evergreens.  As you worked your way through the site, the images and information available also changed from small images and a brief description right down to all available images and a detailed analysis of the plant being displayed.   To attain this amount of flexibility, we wrote a package that would enable Gardening Solutionz™ to enter all the plant details in one area. On initial loading, plants are associated to the relevant plant categories, all images are loaded, descriptions and detailed plant information. This made the linking of a plant to display in "Coastal", "Hot and Dry" and "gap filling" categories is as easy as clicking a button.

When a plant needs to be removed for any reason, the removal of this plant is as easy as changing it's 'state' from 'Published' to 'Private'. This removes the plant from general viewing but keeps the plant entry, on 'hold', until such time as it is back in stock or in season again. The plant can be put back into general viewing immediately by changing the status back to 'published'.
